A prolific and in-demand gag writer, Charlie held the prestigious BBC Radio Comedy Bursary in 2020 and is a regular contributor to prime-time topical and entertainment series across the BBC, Channel 4, Dave, Quibi (RIP) and Comedy Central. She was head writer for both Channel 4’s online sketch show, Shots, and pulped.com’s premium sketch strand, Pulped With Bits, which has amassed millions of views online.
Charlie is the co-creator and co-host of cult comedy-horror podcast, SeanceCast, which won Silver at the 2021 British Podcast Awards. For Radio 4, she co-wrote two series of Olga Koch’s Audio Drama Award-nominated OK Computer and a stand-up special, Fight, which won Best Radio Comedy at the 2022 Writer’s Guild of Great Britain Awards. As a screenwriter, Charlie was selected for the BBC Comedy Writersroom and her first feature film is currently in development.
As a live director, Charlie is known as a formidable script editor and creative collaborator who has wrangled critically acclaimed live shows through Edinburgh Comedy Award nominations, national tours, TV/audio adaptations, and Amazon Prime specials. For screen, she has directed and co-directed comedy shorts for Channel 4, BBC iPlayer, pulped.com, The Roundhouse and LOCO Film Festival. Her directing work was included as a highlight in The Skinny’s 2022 Comedy Round-Up.
Alongside Benjamin Sutton, Kevin Muyolo and Laura Shaw, Charlie founded Daddy’s Superyacht Productions, named a PACT Future30 “30 Production Companies Of The Future”.
